Battery Disposal
To help aid our customers to dispose of their waste batteries correctly, Hayter has signed up to Valpak Battery Recycling Service to divert any unwanted batteries away from landfill. By recycling batteries rather than sending them to landfill, we can help reduce the number of fires at material recycling facilities, which are often caused by batteries as well as reducing the environmental impact of potential toxic contents coming into contact with the surrounding environment.
Under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009, we, Toro U.K. Limited (our Producer No BPRN04315) are obliged to collect, free of charge and within a reasonable time, waste automotive batteries for treatment and recycling from final holders such as garages, Civic Amenity Sites, etc. We are required to do this in any calendar year we place new automotive batteries on the market.
